Temple Emanu-El Cemetery
Originally established by the Hebrew Benevolent Association in 1872 when a section of the City Cemetery was reserved for Jewish use, the Temple Emanu-El Cemetery was officially formed in 1886 when land was purchased at Howell Street and Lemon Ave.
A portion of graves were moved to a different section of the cemetery in 1956 to accommodate plans for a city auditorium. A marker can still be found in the cemetery acknowledging the graves that were relocated.
