Zale’s was started by Morris B. Zale in Wichita Falls, TX in the 1920s, in partnership with his brother and brother-in-law. In addition to jewelry, for which the company is still most recognized, they also sold small electronics, appliances, and housewares. Morris opened the Downtown Dallas location at 1601 Elm Street in the 1950s with the goal of selling as much jewelry to as many as people as possible for the lowest possible price.  Currently, the location is home to several different businesses.
